To activate a new color scheme:

  • Quit BBEdit
  • Download the .bbcolors color scheme file, and save it to ~/Library/Application Support/BBEdit/Color Schemes/
  • Launch BBEdit
  • Go to Preferences -> Text Colors and choose your scheme from the drop down menu
